If you are new to purchasing online, I get it, it can be overwhelming. Below I show you the steps to take to find the rug you want on Amazon and how easy it is to buy. Purchasing a rug on Amazon is easy, fast, trustworthy and fun! Depending on if you already know what you want, you can be in and out in under 10 mins. They have all kinds of filters and trusted suppliers to take care of all your wants, desires and fears at once. - Navigate to Amazon
- Enter “Wool Rug” into the search bar on Amazon
- Set up your filters
- Use the “sort” function
- Put your favorites into the shopping cart
- Add the extras
- Sign up and pay
- Come back and tell me about your experience and share your rug purchase
Filter Down to Only the Rugs You Want
Go to Amazon.com and enter the rug type you are looking to buy at the top in their search bar. If you don’t yet know, start with just “rugs” or “wool rugs” or “area rug” – you get it. After you hit enter or search (the magnifying glass) you will filter the results, so you only get the options you want. On the left side of the screen you will want to select the following to start (FYI – the page will refresh each time you select one):
- Select “3 stars and up” for customer reviews
- Enter the maximum you are willing to spend (then increase it by 15% just to see what you might be missing out on)
- Select the size or sizes you are looking for
- If you have a preference, select the rug material and backing material, but I would skip this step personally
Now you have narrowed your search a bit, use the sort function at the top right of the screen which sends your most desired options to the top of your search. I like to use the “avg. customer reviews” selection so I get the most trustworthy suppliers at the top of the search.
Now, if you selected your filters properly, you should only see rugs that pique your interest. If not, select another filter or two on the left side again.
Fill up the Cart!
This is the fun part now. You get to do some shopping, some hoping, some planning! As you see rugs you like click on them to get more information. If after a little look you don’t like it, hit the back arrow in your browser to get back to the filtered options. If you do like it, add it to your shopping cart by clicking the button on the right. Take a look at the protection plan they offer, I recommend it especially if you have children or pets. Add that to your cart by clicking the box.
Now, once you have a rug you know you want, go back to your cart and click on it (top right of your screen), and delete the rest of the items you don’t want.
Time to Buy
You have the rug ready to roll in your cart. It is time to buy. Click the yellow button on the right side of the screen to “proceed to checkout”. You will need to give Amazon some information and sign up for an account at this point. After that, enter your payment information, decide if you need expedited shipping and finalize the transaction.
Did you Accessorize?!
Before you finalize the transaction you should consider if you need matching pillow covers, candles, blankets, blanket baskets, a rug pad or anything else. You can use the same steps outlined above to find these items by going back to the Amazon search bar and typing in the item you want. Use the filters, sort and fill up your cart.
